Curly Hair

Curly hair is generally classified by 3 curl types,

3A - Your curl ringlets are forming regularly but are longer and more stretched out than curlier types.

3B- Your Curly hair is made up of looser and tighter ringlets.

3C - Your curls are very curly and well defined, They include tight ringlets/corkscrews

What Type of Curly hair do you have?

  • black curly hair type 3A

    Type 3A Curly hair

3A Hair are well defined and you don't quite identify as a 2C curl type.

Your curly hair can have a fine to medium texture and will benefit from hair products for curling.

A stronger curl specialized gel to ensure the moisture is locked into those curl clumps is especially helpful.

  • brown curly hair type 3B

    Type 3B Curly Hair

3B Hair will have a medium texture and bounce. It can be very thirsty for moisture.

Your curls will benefit from a hydrating product to help reduce and remove the frizz you seem to get daily.

Using different hair products and curling techniques as well as minimal touching of your curls will keep your surls defined without the frizz.

  • red curly hair type 3C

    Type 3C Curly Hair

With tightly wound curl clumps transforming into coils, your 3C hair is bouncy and often becomes a hot mess, but nonetheless, people are always fascinated by your curly hair and seem to be looking for that opportunity to touch them.

Your hair seems to take a long time to grow, largely because curls must grow around many many times to get the appearance of length,

Your Type 3C curls will benefit from being protected when not on display and from good quality hydrating products including moisture masks, curl creams and strong hold gels.

Curly Hair Care and Maintenance

Your curls are beautiful and like all hair types they need to be treated and cared for correctly.

Below are some ways to care and protect your curly hair.

✔️ Do not heat style your curls.

✔️ Shampoo and condition with a hydrating shampoo and conditioner, we recommend Nourish & Flourish Shampoo and the Drench & Quench Moisture Mask or the Nourish and Flourish Conditioner.

✔️ Use a hydrating Curl cream to ensure your curly hair is hydrated, primed and protected, we recommend Cruise Control Curl Cream.

✔️ Find your styling hero product to lock in your moisture, prevent frizzy hair and extend the length between your curly hair wash days, we recommend OomphPOW and Chutzpah.

✔️ Wear a curly hair sleep cozy when you sleep or are lounging, your curls don't need to be rubbing against pillows and lounges all night, getting frizzy from all that friction, protect your curls when they arent on display so you can quickly show them off when you want to go out.

✔️ Protect your hair with hair oil, our Hush hair oil not only smells divine but is great for your hair, scalp and even face.
