We get it—mornings can feel like a race against the clock, and sometimes your curls just don’t want to play nice. But busy doesn’t have to mean frizzy, flat, or frazzled!

At LOHY., we’re all about real-life-friendly curl care that fits into your routine (even if “routine” really means “running out the door half-dressed with a coffee in hand”). So, whether you’re rocking waves, curls, or coils, here are three quick, easy routines that help you step out the door looking effortlessly put-together.

Type 2 Wavy Hair

Your Wavy Morning Routine (Type 2)

Goal: Refresh texture, add lift, fight flat roots.
Time: 5–7 minutes

1. Quick refresh:
Flip your head upside down and spritz with a water + leave-in conditioner mix (Drench & Quench + water OR your fave lightweight leave-in). Focus on mid-lengths to ends.

2. Scrunch in texture:
Apply a small amount of Chutzpah Volumising Foam. Scrunch gently, coaxing those waves back to life.

3. Root lift magic:
Use the Volume+ Root Lift Combs or your fingertips to gently lift hair at the roots while drying with a diffuser on low for 1–2 minutes.

4. Set & go:
Mist with Hold-It Hairspray for touchable hold that lasts till lunch (and beyond).

Real-life tip: Keep a travel-size texturising dry shampoo in your bag for mid-morning lift if your waves drop.

Type 3 Curly Hair

Your Curly Morning Routine (Type 3)

Goal: Refresh curl clumps, revive definition, keep frizz away.
Time: 7–10 minutes

1. Damp & detangle:
Lightly dampen curls with a spray bottle. Use your fingers or Flexi Brush to gently detangle where needed—don’t over-brush!

2. Reactivate & scrunch:
Warm a small amount of your styling product (Chutzpah or your curl cream) between your palms, then glaze over your curls. HOT TIP: Gently section your curls to easily detangle and evenly glaze your curls. Scrunch the product into curls to reactivate yesterday’s definition and finger coil any 'straggly pieces'.

3. Diffuse (optional):
Hover diffuse on low heat to bring back bounce. Focus on roots and crown for volume.

4. Seal it in:
A drop or two of Hush Nourishing Oil on your palms, scrunched over the ends, will add shine and keep humidity at bay.

Real-life tip: If you’re really pressed for time, skip the diffuser and clip up the front pieces into a cute mini-claw clip style to disguise flat spots.

Type 4 Coily hair

Your Coily Morning Routine (Type 4)

Goal: Stretch curls, define shape, keep moisture locked in.
Time: 8–12 minutes

1. Morning mist:
Generously mist with water or a water + leave-in mix to rehydrate. Coily hair loves moisture.

2. Define & stretch:
Apply a rich hydrating styler like cruise control through sections, then gently twist, palm roll, or shingle to refresh definition. you can add some Chutzpah or Pow strong hold gel at this point.

3. Quick tension stretch:
While hair is still damp, use the “banding” method or stretch curls gently with your fingers while blasting with a diffuser on cool to loosen shrinkage a bit.

4. Finish & fluff:
Once dry, use the Volume+ Root Lift Combs to gently fluff roots and shape your style.

Real-life tip: Sleep with curls in chunky twists or a pineapple at night to cut your morning routine in half.
